The entire Geological and Geochemical Communities in Nigeria welcome the entire members of SEGH and the global environmental geochemist’s community to the city of Abuja in 2024 for the 39th International Conference on Environmental Geochemistry and Health.
The conference is coming to Nigeria, one of the leading African countries with a large number of Geoscientists, Environmental Scientists and Researchers for the first time. The conference is returning to Africa after the successful organisation at Victoria Falls, Zambia and Eldoret, Kenya.
The conference is receiving huge support from the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), the umbrella Society for geoscience and mining engineering in Nigeria, and the Nigerian Chapter of the International Medical Geology Association (IMGA-Nigeria) and the Aret Adams Professorial Chair on Geology at the Geology Department, University of Ibadan.
The hosting of the SEGH conference would afford the global Geoscientific and Environmental Scientists the opportunity to interact and network with a variety of international scholars that would attend the conference.

Travelling to and within Nigeria
Abuja is well connected by flight from all parts of the globe with all the major airline brands flying into the city daily with multiple flights for some of them. There is also a very virile domestic flights connecting major cities in Nigeria.
Security Concern
For a first-time traveller to Nigeria, one of the fears expressed is the issue of security! However, it must be stated that Nigeria is a more secure country than many of her peers around the world with similar socio-economic challenges. Abuja is the Federal Capital where all the foreign embassies and missions are located with a substantial expatriate community.
The boisterous Nightlife in the city is a testimony to the safety and sanctity of the city.
